The Bundestag's Health Committee has agreed on the new impartial chairperson of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA). Sonja Optendrenk (CDU) will thus take the helm of the highest self-governing body starting July 1, 2026.
Ms. Optendrenk will remain State Secretary at the Hessian Ministry of Family, Senior Citizens, Sports, Health and Care until the end of the month.
